Paid Beta Terms
Effective 11 August 2026
These terms apply to the paid document reliability beta offered by Wessel ter Laak through this website and the pdf-mcp repository.
Business customers only
The paid beta is offered only to businesses and professionals acting for business purposes. It is not a consumer service. Prices are shown excluding VAT; applicable VAT is added to the invoice or checkout where required.
Forming an order
An email request is not an accepted order. An order starts only after the seller confirms that the documents are in scope, confirms the price and delivery target, provides these terms, and receives payment. The current machine-readable offer records the base scope.
Do not attach documents to the initial email. Send only a description of the document type, approximate page count, desired output, and whether personal data is present.
Scope and delivery
The Profile Feasibility Check covers one born-digital PDF or DOCX of up to 10 pages and 5 detected tables. The Document Reliability Pilot covers one recurring layout, up to 5 similar documents, and up to 50 pages in total. It delivers a versioned profile, a checked expected mapping for the accepted sample set, and an evaluation report. Delivery targets begin after all files are accepted as in scope and payment is confirmed.
Scanned or image-only documents, handwriting, encrypted files, charts, image extraction, and manual data entry are excluded unless separately agreed. The beta does not accept patient data or other special-category personal data.
Review and corrections
Outputs are manually checked against extraction warnings and the agreed expected mapping, but automated extraction can still misread complex or previously unseen layouts. An accepted decision means the configured profile checks passed; it is not a guarantee for layouts absent from the accepted sample set. The customer is responsible for approving quality, financial, regulatory, medical, or other consequential use.
One correction round is included when requested within 7 calendar days after delivery and remains within the agreed source documents and output format.
Refunds and cancellation
If an accepted Profile Feasibility Check produces no usable structured table, the customer may choose a full refund or cancel before separately quoted manual rework. If the Pilot cannot produce a usable versioned profile and evaluation baseline, the customer may choose a full refund or approve a revised scope before additional work.
Either party may cancel before payment. After work starts, refunds for reasons outside these failure conditions are handled according to the completed portion of the agreed work.
Customer responsibilities
The customer confirms that it has the right to share the documents and request their processing. Personal, confidential, or regulated data that is not required must be redacted. Passwords, credentials, and payment details must never be sent with documents.
Data and intellectual property
The customer retains ownership of its source documents and delivered output. The open-source software remains under its MIT license. Customer documents and checked expected mappings are not used for model training or added to public test fixtures.
Working copies are deleted within 14 days after delivery. Transaction records may be kept where required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. See the privacy notice.
Contact and governing law
Questions, correction requests, or complaints can be sent to wesseltl@gmail.com. These terms are governed by Dutch law.
